Participants must be a member of St. Peter CYO to play on a team.
If you are not a member please fill out the CYO Member Registration on our website.

In order to play, you must be in 8th grade and attending a high school. You may not play if you are on a LHSAA Varsity or Junior Varsity Volleyball Team Roster.

A brief description of the activity follows:

Type of event: 2020 CYO Co-Ed Volleyball League

Games: TBD
Last year games were usually Monday, Wednesday or Thursday nights but this is not guaranteed. Games are in Metairie/New Orleans.

Six games plus a possible playoff game

Practices: St Mary’s Hall beginning mid-January, 2020, Mondays & Fridays- Schedule TBD

I agree on behalf of myself, my child named herein, or our heirs, successors, and assigns, to hold harmless and defend St Peter Parish Covington,La. its officers, directors and agents, and the New Orleans Archdiocese, coaches, chaperones, or representatives associated with the event, arising from or in connection with my child attending the event or in connection with any illness or injury or cost of medical treatment in connection therewith, and I agree to compensate the parish, its officers, directors and agents, and the New Orleans Archdiocese, coaches, chaperones, or representatives associated with the activity for reasonable attorney’s fees and expenses arising in connection therewith.

CYO Code of Conduct for CYO Athletics

This Code of Conduct applies to all players, coaches and adult advisors in the CYO Youth & Young Adult Ministry Athletic Leagues.

I agree to:

1. Respect the rules of the game and the policies of the CYO League.

2. Respect the officials/coaches and their authority before, during and after games and will never confront officials and/or coaches before, during or after the game. If I have a concern, I will take time to speak with my child’s coach at an agreed upon time and place. If I have further concerns beyond my conversations with the coach, I will contact the Youth Minister/Athletic Director.

3. Respect coaches before, during and after practice. Do not argue with a coach's decision.

4. Inform coach/athletic director of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.

5. Accept seriously the responsibility and privilege of representing the church parish and the community; display positive public action at all times.

6. Live up to the high standards of sportsmanship established by the CYO Youth & Young Adult Ministry Office.

7. Refrain from any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well-being of the athletes. I will play by the rules and resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.

8. Refrain from any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player or parent such as booing, trash talking, showboating and taunting; or use profane language or gestures.

9. Never ridicule or yell at any child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition.

10. Understand that CYO events are free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol and refrain from their use at all sports events.

11. Refrain from coaching my child or other players during games.

12. Respect coaches and players during all practices.

I understand that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned code after fair warning, it may draw a minimum penalty of removal from a game and all remaining games for that day, or maximum penalty of indefinite suspension. Should anyone be removed from a game for any of the above violations, he or she will be automatically suspended from the next game in which the team plays and subject to a disciplinary hearing to determine if further action is necessary.
