Legendary Lodge is the setting for the Catholic Summer Camp programs of the Diocese of Helena. Catholic Summer Camping is a facet of the excellent formation that occurs in parishes, Catholic Schools and diocesan gatherings throughout the year. Legendary Lodge is seeking volunteers who exhibit the ability to: Pass on the Faith through their example, and interactions conversations with campers Be an active learner through volunteer orientation and on-the-job instruction Instruct and assist campers with camp activities to help ensure their safety and success Thrive in a team environment and help build a strong Catholic Community with fellow volunteers and staff Take responsibility for their personal life, work and ministry through punctuality, cleanliness and, above all, preparedness to succeed Work hard, including "behind the scenes" to operate a safe and smooth-running camp Pursue excellence in their work and ministry by giving their all and looking for ways to improve We ask that volunteers commit to a full camp week (Sunday morning at 10am to Friday at noon). If special arrangements need to be made, it is your responsibility to communicate this with our camp managers beforehand. Additionally, this year we are also holding an overnight volunteer training on Friday, June 12-Saturday, June 13. Please plan to attend if you are able as we'll be able to dive into the processes of camp, get to know the staff, and join Bishop Vetter for Mass! *This training is for our young adult volunteers only. Former Lodge Counselors, DOH Seminarians, and Kitchen Help do not need to attend.* Please also be aware that we ask that any volunteer who wishes to help out at a high school camp has at least one full year of experience post-high school (either college or work experience). All Legendary Lodge Volunteers must be 18 years-of-age or older. *A Brief Note on Volunteering at Legendary Lodge* Volunteers are crucial to our work at Legendary Lodge, and we greatly value the commitment and work they offer. While volunteering is beneficial for individuals discerning applying to become a counselor, it is not a requirement for a full-time counselor, nor does it guarantee a full-time position as a camp counselor in the future. ----------------------------------------------------- Equal access to programs, services and employment is available to all persons.
